71 days until Christmas...... Shopping and Eating

Shopping and eating seem to go hand in hand especially in a shopping centre when you get to the food court.  Everything looks good and the smells draw you closer into their trap of purchasing "bad" foods.    Today was no different except Alex and I were at Ikea.. the new one in Springvale.

Ikea in Springvale is 2.2 kms to walk around and has a cafe half way.  Ikea would have to be one of my favourite shops - if not my favourite.  Needless to say after walking half way around Ikea, Alex and I stopped and had lunch.  It was such a hard decision!  I normally get myself a LARGE serve of meatballs, always have chips and ask for extra sauces.  Today I didn't (shock horror).  Alex ordered a medium serve of meatballs, I ordered the grilled chicken with whole wheat pilaf!!  OMG that's exactly what I was thinking?  Even in shock I was quite proud of myself.  I did steal a couple of meatballs off Alex and she shared my chicken.

We finished our walk around Ikea, spent too much money as per usual but it was great to be out and about with my special princess.

How do you cope when it comes to eating out while shopping?

Hi Jo...
I try never to eat out while shopping if I can help it because the temptation is too great. Plus there aren't very many super-healthy options out there...

My strategy is to always have health snacks and my water bottle. Ten almonds, or a little snack box with cherry tomatoes, celery, carrot, cucumber, snow peas or some other vegies, or an apple normally live in my bag for shopping centre trips where I might be tempted to buy. And it's cheaper too :)

Good luck with your journey xx
