OINK I am still trying.......

Hi all,

Well I have been missing in action from blogging for what seems forever which saddens me as I love having this medium to be able to voice my thoughts etc. As a family we have been very busy - with one thing or another. In fact since January 1st it feels like we haven't stopped to smell the roses as we have just been too overwhelmed with life in general.

As for me... I am still the yo-yo queen... not really advancing in the weight loss stakes but once again I still can somewhat proudly say that I haven't given up completely. Like I said "somewhat".

So what has been happening besides fresh starts, wiping the slate clean, binge eating and drinking - not that much. I can say that recently though I have seemed to feel like the time is right and my head is steering towards the right frame of mind. I have joined another online group through Facebook that is Weight Watchers based. They have given me some new found inspiration and I am thankful that they actually contacted me to join them... someone out there is thinking of me even when I am not!! LOL!! Must say you cannot knock the Weight Watchers support system at all - in or out of the meeting.

I have weigh in tonight which I have to say I don't know how I really feel about getting on the scales. Last week our meeting was closed due to the Labour Day Public Holiday (Vic) but I did weigh on my home scales. It showed a loss of 1.5kgs - which was fantastic and also spurred me on to stay on track without my meeting fix... but then it was the weekend.

A weekend full of party celebrations for my princess Alex who turned 10 years old on Friday. We went out for dinner on Friday to the Frankston RSL - my meal was totally different to the description. I chose a chefs suggestion, the Crumbed Chicken Breast which was a Chicken Breast pocketed with fresh Tarragon, vine-ripened Tomatoes and Mushrooms, crumbed and served with Vegetables and Blue Cheese Garlic Sauce. What was on my plate was a crumbed and deep fried chicken breast complete with wing bone pocketed with fresh tarragon, tomatoes, mushrooms and some sort of cream smothered in the blue cheese garlic sauce which I requested on the side. I think they put the sauce over the top to ensure I couldn't see how dark brown the crumbs were from the deep frying..... oh well.... all I can say is I MUST work on my choosing wise choices proceedure. My fault..... sort of!!

That was Friday - Saturday was then Alex's disco party for which I had purchased party foods and then Noel asked what are we having for dinner?? I didn't realise that I had completely forgot about us with all the hype of the party so it was party food for us also. No time to contemplate cooking anything at 8pm when the disco was in full swing!!

Wish me luck today for my weigh in..... we are off to Sydney at Easter so I am hoping to have lost at least 5kg by then (just under 5 weeks) achievable - HELL YES!!
